Memories of home…
Hitty Jean has been visitng Pittsburgh! Both of her caretaker, Martha’s, parents grew up in Mount Lebanon. A trip down Memory Lane was in order.
Above is the Childhood Home of Martha’s Mother, Enid. It was nice to see that the new owner takes such good care of it. Lots of memores there.
Can you spot the wonderfully large Japanese Maple in the background above? Martha’s Grandfather planted that tree.
Apparently, that was one of the last things he planted. He has been gone since 1947.
Below is the Childhood Home of Martha’s Dad, Jack, just across town:
The current owner even gave a tour! Lots of memories in this home, as well…

Great – and how neat that your parents’ childhood homes were across the street. Gives new meaning to “boy next door.”

Ah, alas, they were across town!! They had their first *date* when my mom was 13!!! Talk about long-term!

It is nice for Hitty Jean to see the places that are important in her family – The ancestral Japanese Maple is lovely! How nice of the current inhabitants to show you around.

We were hoping to find some seeds so we could bring them home, but weren’t sure how to do that without *Trespassing*
